Day 1

AKWAABA (WELCOME) - ARRIVAL

Arrive in Ghana. Meet and assist by The Chariot staff (Tour Guide & Chauffeur). Transfer to hotel. A brief introduction on board. Welcome drink on arrival and orientation shortly after.

Day 2

ACCRA CITY TOUR

Your tour of Ghana begins after a hefty breakfast. This half day city tour will take you through the administrative or political route in the Accra Metropolis. Get your cameras ready for those enchanting Kodak moments at the famous Black Star Gate (where VP Kamala Harris of the USA made her historic speech on her 3-day tour to Ghana), Black Star Square also known as the Independence Square (a monumental site for Ghana’s Independence Day Parade).

Continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in memory and honor of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah (the First President of Ghana) and prominent Pan Africanist. Visit Old Accra for the Jamestown Walking Tour and the Brazil House, one of the very few Afro-Brazilian houses that was not sold off but developed for commercial purposes dated back to 1836. Occupied by the Tabom people formely enslaved people who were originally captured from Yoruba-speaking communities in West Africa who later returned to settle Ghana from Brazil. De Souza, Pereria, Palmares, Nelson, Azumah, Amorin, De Medeiros, Nunoo, Olympio, and Maslieno are some of the names still existing among Ghanaians.

Exercise your bargaining skills at the Center for National Culture (popularly known as the Arts Center). Your tour guide will assist you with this process.

Have a late lunch on your own account and head back to your hotel.

Your night tour begins at 6pm when the tour guide and chauffeur will pick you up for your welcome dinner at a chosen restaurant & pub to be communicated to you.

Drop off at your hotel or you can continue to discover Accra by night on your own.

Day 3

ACCRA - AKOSOMBO

After breakfast, depart for Akosombo in the Eastern Region and few hours from the Volta Region. A beautiful small town, the acclaimed haven in the region.

Upon arrival, visit the Akosombo Dam, a rock-fill dam known as the Akosombo Hydroelectric Project which supplies electricity to some neighbouring countries.

Check into your river resort. Have a view of the Volta Lake (the third largest man-made lake in the world and the second largest in Africa) which was formed as a result of the damming of the Volta River. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Volta River. And enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or enjoying some watersport activities. Bask in a candle lit dinner amidst some lovely serenades.

Day 4

AKOSOMBO – ADA FOAH

Today, we explore Ada Foah after breakfast. We head for the southeast coast of Ghana where the Volta River meets the Atlantic Ocean after check out. Make a stop at the Shai Hills Resource Reserve.  Popularly known for Baboons and sanctuary of monkeys, it also contains species of birds, mammals, reptiles, bats, etc. Embark on a short nature walk (hiking).

Arrive at Ada Foah just in time for lunch, enjoy another cruise to the estuary and a tour of the crocodile island.

Day 5

ADA FOAH – ACCRA - CAPE COAST

Check out of your resort in Ada Foah and depart for Accra after breakfast. Make a quick stopover at the Accra Mall or West Hills Mall for early lunch or some snacks for the rest of your journey.

Arrive Cape Coast late afternoon and check into your beach resort in Elmina. Enjoy the rest of your evening over dinner and some seafood dinner

Day 6

KAKUM NATIONAL PARK | CAPE COAST CASTLE

Enjoy a panoramic view through the Denkyira Kingdom to the Kakum National Park after breakfast. It is one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rainforests. The key attraction is the tree canopy walkway that enables you to skywalk over the high tropical forest. It is a 350km long suspended bridge comprised of six tree platforms & seven connecting spans that stand 30metres above the forest ground. You can also choose to go hiking to explore and learn about the flora and fauna.

Continue to visit the Cape Coast Castle. Originally for the trade of timber and gold but later used in the Atlantic Slave Trade. Encounter the “Door of no Return” which was the last stop before crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

Transfer, overnight and dinner at your beach resort.

Day 7

ELMINA CASTLE | ELMINA TOWNSHIP

Depart Elmina for Accra late morning after breakfast. Check into your hotel and enjoy your day at leisure.

Your driver and guide will pick you up in the evening for a night out. Dinner at a private restaurant and a pub for drinks soaking to some good afro music to set the mood. This is music for your dancing feet.

Transfer and overnight at your hotel.

Day 8

ELMINA – CAPE COAST - ACCRA

After a hearty breakfast, enjoy your day at leisure while relaxing for your spa session (on your own account) or your guide and driver will be available for your last-minute shopping plans.

Transfer to the Kotoka International Airport for your onward flight back home after check out.
