The annual illustrious festival in Accra, Ghana, has consistently garnered Africans from the diaspora and crowds from the western alike embarking on priceless journeys to witness, experience and share in the astounding soul of Africa.

Day 1
Dec 27


Arrive in Ghana. Meet and assist by The Chariot staff (Tour Guide & Chauffeur). Transfer to hotel. Brief introduction on board. Welcome drink on arrival and orientation shortly after.

Day 2
Dec 28


Your tour of Ghana begins after a hefty breakfast. This half day city tour begins with a drive through Cantonments to visit the W.E.B DuBois Center in reverence for the “Father of Pan Africanism”.  The center is where Dr. DuBois spent his last years right here in Ghana.

Tour one of the first residential areas in Accra; Labone, Cantonments and East Cantonments. The area has always been home to people of diverse cultures including expats working in Ghana. Presently, it still has one of the most expensive homes in Ghana including transformed homes of old to beautiful apartments by realtors and individuals.

Continue for a short drive through the University of Ghana, the oldest and largest public university in Ghana.

Transfer to your hotel. Get your refresh and head for the AfroFuture opening night.

Day 3
Dec 29


Continue your tour of Accra after breakfast. This full day city tour will take you through the administrative or political route in the Accra Metropolis. Get your cameras ready for those enchanting Kodak moments at the famous Black Star Gate (where VP Kamala Harris of the USA made her historic speech on her 3-day tour to Ghana), Black Star Square also known as the Independence Square (a monumental site for Ghana’s Independence Day Parade).

Continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in memory and honor of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah (the First President of Ghana) and prominent Pan Africanist. Visit Old Accra for the Jamestown Walking Tour and the Brazil House, one of the very few Afro-Brazilian houses that was not sold off but developed for commercial purposes dated back to 1836. Occupied by the Tabom people formerly enslaved people who were originally captured from Yoruba-speaking communities in West Africa who later returned to settle Ghana from Brazil. De Souza, Pereria, Palmares, Nelson, Azumah, Amorin, De Medeiros, Nunoo, Olympio, and Maslieno are some of the names still existing amongst Ghanaians.

Exercise your bargaining skills at the Center for National Culture (popularly known as the Arts Center). Your tour guide will assist you with this process. Make sure to purchase some beautiful fabrics and have your measurements taken for sewing of your custom African outfits.

Transfer to your hotel and prepare for your AfroFuture second night experience but first, an African Buffet awaits you!

Enjoy the day at leisure after breakfast. You can explore the day on your own.

Dec 31


After breakfast, enjoy the day at leisure. Your driver and guide will be available to assist you with your collective needs.

Day 6
Jan 01


Today, we depart Accra for Cape Coast in the Central Region after breakfast. Arrive Cape Coast and enjoy a panoramic view through the Denkyira Kingdom to the Kakum National Park after breakfast. It is one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rainforests. The key attraction is the tree canopy walkway that enables you to skywalk over the high tropical forest. It is a 350km long suspended bridge comprised of six tree platforms & seven connecting spans that stand 30metres above the forest ground. You can also choose to go hiking to explore and learn about the flora and fauna.

Stop by the Hans Cottage Botel en-route for late lunch on your own account. Join in the experience of watching and petting the most cherished crocodiles in the heart of Lake Hans.

Transfer to Elmina & overnight at your beach resort.

Day 7
Jan 02


This day will be spent reconnecting returnees with the cultural and spiritual ties that had been denied refused them for centuries through the Fihankra. After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you for a revelation and transformative experience. Climax the Fihankra experience with a naming ceremony which seeks to reattach people of African descent having been lost owing to the transatlantic slave trade to the Motherland.

Observe, participate in drumming and dancing by the locals while learning some new skills.

Continue to the beautiful fishing town of Elmina. Visit the Elmina Castle formerly known as St. George’s Castle which was the first trading post and the oldest European building in sub-Saharan Africa. The Elmina Castle receives many visitors each year because of its history as a major trans-Atlantic slave hub and is a preserved UNESCO’s World Heritage Site.                  

Spend your evening chitchatting about the day’s experience over some Seafood dinner and great music (Live Band – on weekends). Overnight at your resort or hotel.

Day 8
Jan 03


Check out of your hotel after breakfast and depart Elmina for Accra with stopover at the Cape Coast Castle. The Castle was originally for the trade of timber and gold but later used in the Atlantic Slave Trade. Encounter the “Door of no Return” which was the last stop before crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

Arrive Ada Foah, complete check in procedures and enjoy your day at leisure. Enjoy your evening amidst music and dance. The DJ on the turntable always keep visitors on their feet.

Day 9
Jan 04


After breakfast, enjoy a cruise to the estuary and a tour of the crocodile island and participate in other activities available to you.

Dinner and overnight at your resort.

Day 10


After a hearty breakfast, check out of your resort by Noon for Accra or your guide and driver will assist you with your last-minute shopping plans.

You will be transferred to the airport on time for your onward flight
